Benefits of NAGLAZYME® (galsulfase)

NAGLAZYME provides the missing enzyme in MPS VI so that cells can break down and get rid of GAG waste.1 It helps stabilize GAG levels and may help to slow the decline associated with this condition.1 GAG build-up causes many of the problems that patients face.2

To test whether NAGLAZYME is having an effect, clinicians chose stair climbing and walking which can both be easily measured. The NAGLAZYME clinical tests looked at improvements in patients’ ability to walk and climb stairs.7

Clinical studies proved that NAGLAZYME helped with endurance. People who took NAGLAZYME were able to do much better on stair climbing and walking tests than people who didn’t get the treatment. Researchers also measured GAG levels in patients’ urine. NAGLAZYME helped lower GAG.1 You can use your own GAG levels to help assess how well NAGLAZYME is working.1 If you would like to learn more about NAGLAZYME clinical studies, talk to your doctor or contact BioMarin Patient and Physician Support (BPPS).
